The Animal Defense League Edmonton Chapter is comprised of individuals working to improve the abysmal conditions at the Edmonton Animal Services pound facility. The Edmonton pound makes no attempt to find homes for unclaimed animals and refuses to take any steps to improve the conditions for the animals in it's care. Management of the pound have repeatedly lied to both the citizens of Edmonton and Edmonton City Council regarding the disposition of unclaimed animals and has repeatedly violated it's own policies regarding turning animals over to the SPCA.
