Membership in Animal Rights Edmonton
Anyone who is in agreement with the beliefs as set out elsewhere on this site can join Animal Rights Edmonton.
The executive of Animal Rights Edmonton consists of the founders of the group and is closed. No new members will be admitted to the executive for the foreseeable future.
Because law enforcement and others opposed to animal rights routinely attempt to infiltrate and disrupt animal rights groups Animal Rights Edmonton maintains a culture of security to ensure the safety of its members as well as allowing it to effectively plan actions as well as infiltrate labs and other animal abuse facilities. The structure of Animal Rights Edmonton is a series of cells planning and executing actions. Individuals that are accepted for membership become members of a cell but will not be identified to members of other cells. This arrangement prevents law enforcement or other individuals from disrupting the actions of other cells of the group. Under no circumstances will law enforcement officials or individuals working for law enforcement agencies in any capacity be permitted to join Animal Rights Edmonton. Individuals seeking membership will be required to meet with a member of the executive, normally the press officer. This meeting is has a two-fold purpose, firstly to ascertain whether the individual is a legitimate potential member or an individual intending to damage the group and also to determine if Animal Rights Edmonton and the individual seeking membership are a good fit. While Animal Rights Edmonton does not make vegetarianism or veganism a prerequisite for membership new members must embrace a cruelty free diet and lifestyle within a short period of time after joining.
Anyone wanting more information or wishing to join Animal Rights Edmonton should contact us at info@adledmonton.org. We will respond to you as quickly as possible.
